DTI Advisory Board
An Invitation
On behalf of the Darkness Therapy Institute we invite you to join our advisory board of practitioners, researchers, and experts committed to advancing this emerging field. Together, we shape the ethical, scientific, and therapeutic standards of darkness immersion.
Who we are
“The Darkness Therapy Institute delivers the first evidence-based, ethically guided training system that empowers facilitators to offer deeply restorative, sensory-free experiences shown to reduce anxiety, calm the nervous system, and create lasting psychological and emotional transformation in an overstimulated world.”
The Darkness Therapy Institute is developing an evidence-based comprehensive instructor and facilitator training and certification pathway to ensure high-quality, ethical standards of care that contribute to rigorous, replicable research.
Studies in current Darkness Therapy literature show promising outcomes for treating bipolar, anxiety, depression and stress whilst increasing self-esteem, mindfulness and meaning in life.
Despite these promising results, there are currently no standardized training protocols or professional guidelines, creating inconsistent outcomes and limiting research validity. Our current focus addresses this gap by setting a professional standard and framework for safe, effective implementation.
Our team includes instructional designers, researchers, and mental health professionals. We also collaborate with experts from multiple disciplines and cultural traditions to strengthen and expand the field through shared knowledge and diverse perspectives.
